Senior Sales Director, US Insurance Market

Insurance Insider | Hybrid, New York (2-3 days/week in office)
The insurance market is full of vendors trying to sell in. It has very few people who are actually trusted enough to sit across the table from a carrier CUO, a reinsurance broker, or an MGA founder, and be treated as a peer.
We're looking for one of them.
Insurance Insider is the leading provider of news, analysis, and market intelligence for insurers, reinsurers, brokers, investors, and service providers. Since 1996, we've helped the most important players in global insurance see around corners, spot opportunity, and make smarter commercial decisions. Now we're expanding our US team and looking for a Senior Sales Director who already has real standing in this market: someone who can walk into a room of underwriters and be recognized, not introduced.
This is not a hunter role measured on raw activity. It's a senior, relationship-led seat for someone who understands the insurance and reinsurance world well enough to have a genuine point of view on it, and who can translate that credibility into strategic subscription and data partnerships with the market's most important firms.
This role is built for you if:
You have deep, standing relationships across the P&C insurance, reinsurance, or broking world, built over a real career, not a CRM export
You're seen by the market as a knowledgeable voice, not just a vendor. People take your calls because of who you are, not just what you're selling
You've sold (or worked adjacent to) subscription, data, research, or market intelligence products into insurance, reinsurance, or capital markets
You want to operate as a business partner to clients and to leadership, shaping strategy and market positioning, not just running a pipeline report
You have 810+ years of experience in or selling into the insurance market specifically, and can speak the language of the industry fluently and credibly
You're commercially sharp and comfortable owning revenue targets, but you lead with insight and relationships, not urgency tactics
What you'll own:
A defined US territory across insurance carriers, reinsurers, brokers, MGAs, investors, law firms, and other key market participants
Senior-level relationships: building genuine, lasting connections with decision-makers, not just booking discovery calls
Strategic account growth: converting relationships and trial usage into long-term subscription partnerships
A visible role representing Insurance Insider at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, as a recognized presence in the market
Close partnership with our editorial, research, and marketing teams to bring real market intelligence, not just a sales pitch, to every conversation
Accurate, disciplined use of Salesforce to manage and forecast your territory
What sets this opportunity apart:
You won't be selling a commodity, and you won't be starting from zero credibility. You'll have the backing of a category-leading brand, a team of respected journalists and analysts, an established client base, and leadership actively investing in growth, combined with the autonomy and upside of a growth business.
Hybrid: 23 days per week in our New York office, with the flexibility to manage your territory and relationships on your own terms the rest of the time.
Compensation:
Base: $100-125 K
On-target earnings (OTE) of $200,000$225,000, plus competitive benefits and 401(k).
A Note on Fit:
We'd rather talk to fewer candidates who are the real thing than a large pool of generic B2B sales profiles. If you've spent your career becoming genuinely known and trusted in the insurance or reinsurance world, and you're ready to turn that standing into a strategic sales partnership with the market's leading intelligence platform, we want to hear from you.
