The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
The duties may include, but are not limited to:
Serve as a supervisory program manager supporting the Senior Director in supervising the operations of the office and its staff.
Responsible for planning, developing, and directing of programs, analysis, and policies for the Division; motivating, guiding, and leading staff as a team; assigning and ensuring high quality work.
Plan, organize and direct programs and policies to achieve FAS goals and objectives within Global Programs, and to work effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations.
Serve as liaison with U.S. private sector organizations, other USDA agencies, Federal departments and agencies, and foreign organizations, governments, and entities.
Analyze urgent problems and issues; call attention to potential advantages or disadvantages of utilizing a course of action under varying situations; and recommend alternative actions as solutions to assist high-level officials.
Plan, schedule, and carry out activities concerned with the implementation, analysis and evaluation of programs for effectiveness; prepares project reports, tracks financial operation of projects, ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
