Seeking part-time temporary Sports Newspersons, the role requires writing, editing, and re-writing sports stories for college and professional leagues while collaborating with a diverse team and managing flexible scheduling remotely for 4 to 14 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
Collaborate with journalists, reporters, and editors to produce sports stories using AP and third-party automated systems
Communicate effectively with various sources, including AP staff and Sports Information Directors
Work under deadline pressure to cover a wide range of sports topics for multiple platforms
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, such as three years of full-time news experience
Strong knowledge of professional and college sports
Proven interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
Access to a home computer and Wi-Fi, with availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
