We are seeking an Inside Account Manager to manage relationships with a portfolio of specialty pharmacy accounts, drive program utilization, identify growth opportunities, and provide ongoing customer support.
This is a relationship-focused role for someone who understands pharmacy operations and is comfortable communicating with pharmacy owners, Directors of Pharmacy, purchasing leaders, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned specialty pharmacy accounts.
- Drive utilization of GPO contracts and programs while identifying growth opportunities.
- Proactively identify account issues, declining volume, service needs, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct regular account check-ins and business reviews via phone and video.
- Partner with Operations, Contracting, Data, Technology, and field sales teams to resolve customer issues.
- Support onboarding of new pharmacy members and ensure a smooth transition into programs.
- Provide account intelligence and support to Outside Account Executives.
- Manage inbound inquiries and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
- Track contract participation, compliance, utilization, and account performance.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and account documentation.
Requirements
- Required: Working knowledge of how a pharmacy operates, including dispensing workflow, purchasing, payer, and reimbursement basics.
- Experience in account management, customer support, contract management, commercial administration, or a similar role within pharmacy, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or distribution.
- Strong phone-based communication skills with pharmacy owners, Directors of Pharmacy, and purchasing leaders.
- Self-directed, proactive, and able to assess situations and take action independently.
- Strong organization, follow-through, communication, and CRM skills.
- Based in or willing to commute daily to Florham Park, NJ (No Exceptions).
Preferred
- Specialty pharmacy, home infusion, or long-term care pharmacy experience.
- Pharmaceutical contract management, pricing, rebate, or chargeback experience.
- Exposure to GPO, PSAO, or pharmacy network programs.
- Pharmacy Technician certification or hands-on pharmacy operations experience.
