Eligibility
Applications will be considered from residents and non‑residents of Colorado who meet the minimum qualifications listed.

Residency requirement: if selected, must establish residence in Colorado.

Responsibilities

Review records and interview inmates to assess sexual violence level, treatment needs, and treatment amenability.

Develop and modify individual treatment plans and goals as required.

Provide offense‑specific treatment to sex offenders through group and individual therapy, status reviews, homework feedback, and SOTMP program evaluations.

Document assessments and treatment interventions in mental health files and departmental databases.

Ensure continuity of care by writing reports for community corrections placement, parole board hearings, and collaborating with receiving agencies.

Promote the safety and security of the clinical and correctional environment through observation, contraband control, and reporting violations.

Attend training programs, including self‑defense courses as assigned.

Participate in SOTMP meetings, design and update program content, and conduct staffing recommendations.

Provide training to the correctional system on philosophy, rationale, and management of high‑risk sex offenders, and maintain program statistics.

Mandatory Qualifications

Must hold a current, valid Colorado license or be a registered candidate in one of the following: LSW, LCSW, LPCC, LMFTC, or ADDC.

Current full license from Colorado in one of those fields also meets the requirement.

Ability to provide professional mental health or sex‑offender treatment to inmates.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills for collaboration across programs and with external agencies.

Ability to work independently, maintain comprehensive clinical documentation, and work with a diverse inmate population.

Maintain required registration/permit/licensure as applicable.

Strong sense of self‑control, alertness, and resilience under stressful and potentially violent situations.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s or doctoral degree in a mental health field such as counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or psychology from an accredited program.

License eligibility as Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Work, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Psychologist.

Experience providing mental health treatment in a correctional environment.
