The JCC of Central NJ is a non-profit agency whose mission is to educate, enrich and empower our community – from generation to generation. The JCC offers educational, recreational, fitness & wellness, cultural and communal programs and activities to people of all abilities and all stages of life.

Position Summary
The JCC of Central NJ is seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Visual Communications Manager to lead the design and visual presentation of the organization’s marketing and communications efforts. This role is responsible for developing compelling print and digital materials that support programs, events, fundraising initiatives, membership, and community engagement efforts.

The Visual Communications Manager serves as a steward of the JCC brand, ensuring a consistent visual identity across all platforms while helping to tell the story of our organization through design, photography, and video. This is a full-time, overtime exempt position reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Key Responsibilities

Design and produce a wide range of marketing and communications materials, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, advertisements, event collateral, signage, annual reports, social media graphics, email graphics, presentations, newsletter, and fundraising materials

Collaborate with departments across the organization to create engaging promotional materials that support program participation and organizational goals

Design materials supporting fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, annual reports, and special events

Coordinate with outside printers, promotional vendors, sign companies, and other production partners to ensure quality and timely delivery of marketing materials

Ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet established quality standards

Maintain relationships, develop calendar, and provide graphics for paid digital/print advertising and social media planners

Brand Management

Create, maintain, and continually refine the organization’s brand style guide

Ensure consistent application of branding, visual identity, messaging, and design standards across all print and digital communications

Serve as a resource for staff on brand usage and visual communication best practices

Photography & Videography

Help capture photography and videography at programs, special events, and community activities

Organize, edit, and maintain a library of visual assets for ongoing marketing use

Manage relationships with hired photographers

Collaborate with staff to identify storytelling opportunities that showcase the JCC’s impact

Website & Digital Asset Management

Maintain current and engaging photography and video content across the organization’s website

Update visual content and assist with page layout and content presentation on the organization’s website using the content management system

Assist in enhancing the user experience through thoughtful visual content placement

Required Qualifications and Skills

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat) and Canva

Experience with photography, photo editing, and basic videography

Knowledge of website content management systems and digital asset management

Strong understanding of branding principles and visual storytelling

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Ability to work collaboratively with staff across departments and engage positively with community members

Experience with email marketing platforms and social media content creation preferred

Experience with WordPress preferred

Basic video editing experience preferred

Required Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Minimum of 2 years of graphic design experience

Experience working in a nonprofit, community center, educational, or camp environment preferred
