Video Production CoordinatorUnder general supervision, the Video Production Coordinator creates engaging, high-quality video content for the City's social media platforms and website. This position plans, films, edits, and publishes video content; and collaborates with City departments to highlight programs, services, events, and initiatives. This position is expected to produce 2–3 completed videos daily while maintaining accuracy, quality, timeliness, and consistency with City branding and messaging.Minimum Training and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's degree in Video Production, Film, Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, Multimedia, or a related field.Experience: Four (4) years of professional video production experience.Certifications: Valid driver's license, Experience producing content for social media and digital platforms, Portfolio demonstrating a variety of professional video work, Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro.Preferred: Experience operating DSLR/mirrorless cameras, professional audio equipment, lighting, and drones (FAA Part 107 Certification preferred or ability to obtain), Experience with live streaming and multicamera productions, Strong storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex topics into engaging visual content.Note: The City retains the right to determine equivalencies. Any certifications not possessed at hire must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.Physical RequirementsMust be physically able to operate an automobile, a remote radio, and a variety of automated office machines that includes a computer, calculator, postage machine, copier, fax machine, etc. Must be able to exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to twenty pounds.Other InformationEssential Job Functions: Plans, shoots, edits, and publishes engaging video content for the City's social media platforms, website, and other digital channels. Manages the entire video production process from concept through final publication. Produces approximately 2–3 completed videos daily, while balancing quality, accuracy, and timeliness. Captures high-quality video and audio in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. Edits videos using professional editing software, including color correction, audio mixing, captions, and motion elements. Creates videos optimized for multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, and other emerging platforms. Collaborates with City departments to identify story opportunities and develop engaging visual content. Conducts on-camera interviews with City staff, elected officials, residents, and community partners. Develops creative concepts for educational content and special projects. Ensures all video content aligns with the City's branding, messaging, and communication standards. Assists with live streaming of events and special announcements, as needed. Organizes, catalogs, and maintains video files and digital assets. Stays current with video production techniques, social media trends, platform algorithms, and emerging technologies. On call for emergency situations (weeknights, weekends, and holidays), as needed.Additional Job Functions: Performs other related duties as required. All employees of the municipality shall learn the emergency operations procedures for their respective department and position and execute these duties fully during times of emergency. This may or may not include assignment to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
