Seeking a creative and experienced Children's Book Editor or Senior Editor for a hybrid full-time position, responsible for acquiring and developing picture books for young children, managing editorial processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate and enhance the publishing list.
Key responsibilities:

Edit approximately 10-15 new picture books annually, identifying unique acquisition opportunities
Oversee all aspects of book development, including manuscript acquisition, illustration coordination, and marketing copy creation
Conduct market analysis to generate ideas for preschool and early elementary book formats, while maintaining production schedules

Required qualifications:

4+ years of editorial experience in children's books, with a successful track record in acquiring and editing picture books
Strong writing and copywriting skills for various editorial needs
Creative thinking ability to expand children's book characters and concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Fluency in Spanish is a plus, with opportunities to work on bilingual projects
