Social Media CoordinatorThe Social Media Coordinator will assist the Social Media Manager in managing Charlotte Hornets social media accounts, as well as providing guidance for other Hornets Sports & Entertainment (HSE) social media accounts (e.g., Spectrum Center, Hornets Fan Shop, Hugo the Hornet, Hornets Community, etc.) as needed. The coordinator will assist in the ideation, creation, and publishing of content for all Hornets social properties. They will attend practices, shootarounds, games and other HSE events to provide coverage for social media. The coordinator will stay on top of emerging trends in sports, pop culture, and social media, and will identify opportunities to join relevant social conversations. In addition, this role is responsible for community management efforts for HSE social properties, including responding to comments and DMs, as well as seeking out engagement opportunities with creators.Hornets ValuesWe operate with the highest level of integrity, driven by moral standards that guide us in everything we do.We communicate with full candor; openly, honestly, and respectfully with clarity.We work in the spirit of one team, committed to one vision, shared values, and an inclusive culture that ensures every person feels valued and respected.We hold ourselves accountable, and responsible to raise high levels of expectations of ourselves and our team.We compete at the highest levels and strive to be the best at everything we do.We act with resilience and thrive in the face of challenges bringing others along with us.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in ideating, creating, and publishing day-to-day Hornets social media content on Facebook (FB stories), X/Twitter, Instagram (IG stories), Snapchat, Storyteller, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Weibo, Threads and any new social platforms that emergeAssist with day-to-day coverage of team and players (practice, interviews, games, shootaround, warm-ups, postgame, etc.)Work with social and video team to develop timely content relevant to current trends in social media and pop cultureUse Slate to create photo and video content for social mediaAs needed, take photos and edit them in Adobe LightroomAssist with influencer research, coordination and approvalsAssist in the creation of content calendars for Hornets social mediaHelp create and plan unique revenue opportunities (e.g., ticket promotions/sales, youth programming, retail, and partnerships) to fit the social spaceAssist with keeping all player Greenfly albums up-to-date with contentUse the platform-specific social voice and tone of the organization to lead community management efforts - effectively communicate with fans, engage with partners, respond to inquiries and join in relevant online/digital conversationsPlay a significant role in elevating our LinkedIn strategy with a focus on emphasizing HSE culture, our commitment to the community, and our fan-first approach to business.Assist with international content development and creation for WeiboClip game highlights and additional television clips for social media via WSC and AvGen.Other duties as assigned by department director.Required Skills, Experience and AbilitiesTo perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies:Minimum of 2 years social media experience in a professional role or comparable Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social media, journalism, English, public relations, or related fieldStrong command of the English language with close attention to spelling and grammarStrong understanding of YouTube best practices, content creation and content optimizationStrong understanding of vertical video trends, best practices, and optimizationThe ability to develop and/or concept various forms of content across different platforms including videos, photos, graphics, and text-only postsWork with a wide variety of people and develop strong relationshipsAble to multi-task under time constraints, meet deadlines and work within a fast-paced industry/environmentWell organized, extremely strong attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects with minimal supervisionAssist in video and photo capturingExperience in the Adobe Creative Cloud with experience in graphic design and/or video editing for social media a plusExcellent communications skills – both written and verbalA self-starter who is resourceful and is an outstanding teammateAbility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, holidaysAdditional InformationThis is a full time benefit eligible position.
