Magnopus is hiring an AI Tech Artist to build, optimize, and support the node-based generative AI workflows used by artists on a major new project. Fixed-term contract through September 2026 (anticipated extension to February 2027), onsite five days a week at the Downtown Los Angeles studio.

What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Design, build, document and maintain complex node-based generative AI workflows for production use Common
- Develop custom Python scripts and nodes to extend graph functionality, integrate external APIs and streamline asset-generation workflows
- Evaluate emerging generative AI models, research techniques and integrate relevant developments into production workflows Common
- Build and optimize image, video and multimodal generation workflows, with a focus on visual quality, temporal consistency and motion fidelity
- Configure and optimize models for memory efficiency, inference speed and reliable execution across production environments
- Build and maintain workflows using conditioning, adapter and fine-tuning techniques to support character, composition and stylistic consistency
- Set up and maintain workflows for training and deploying adapters and other project-specific model customizations
- Implement accelerated inference and multimodal editing approaches that enable artists to iterate quickly Unique
- Package complex technical workflows into clear, reusable graph templates and tools for creative teams
- Troubleshoot issues across models, nodes, integrations and production workflows
- Work closely with artists and production teams to understand creative challenges and develop practical technical solutions
- Provide technical support and guidance to artists using the workflows you build, and document solutions to support effective use across the team
Experience
- Advanced experience building, extending and troubleshooting node-based generative AI workflows, such as ComfyUI or equivalent graph-based frameworks
- Strong Python development skills, including experience developing custom nodes, tools and integrations for generative AI workflows Common
- Deep technical understanding of current generative image and video models, multimodal workflows and the techniques used to control and optimize their output Common
- Hands-on experience with conditioning and adapter technologies such as ControlNet, IP-Adapter and LoRA, including training, fine-tuning models, and deploying adapters for production use
- Experience optimizing AI workflows for memory usage, inference speed, model compatibility and reliable execution
- Strong understanding of generative AI video workflows, including the technical challenges involved in temporal consistency, motion control and high-quality output
- Experience turning emerging models, research or experimental technology into practical production workflows
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose issues across complex models, nodes and graph setups
- Experience supporting creative production workflows and an understanding of how technical tools need to work for artists in practice
- The ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with both creative and technical colleagues
- A portfolio, code repository or other examples demonstrating relevant custom node development, graph architectures, model customisation or generative AI workflow development
