About This Position This position is responsible for advertising and promotional materials developed for assigned products and services and the day-to-day management of the creative processes that provide quality image and sales materials for the organization.

Meets with product and service managers, provides input into appropriate advertising and promotional themes and materials, and assures quality development and production of these ideas.
Provides insight and guidance to strategies and materials that launch images, brands, and products and services.
Creates and delivers critical sales and advertising messages to various constituencies in response to competition in a deregulated marketplace.
Develops and maintains professional relationships with contracting agencies that supply support to Austin Energy accounts.
Provides marketing communication input into market segmentation and product planning.
Assists in developing advertising and promotion budgets.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Knowledge of project management, database, and spreadsheet software.
Knowledge of marketing and sales support, product development, and brand development requirements.
Knowledge of graphics and copy quality development.
Skill in product and service development and launch.
Skill in copywriting and editing for various media.
Skill in program development, direct marketing, tradeshows, collateral production, and management.
Ability to develop and maintain corporate image and professional relationships.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to understand competitive challenges facing a monopoly in transition.
Minimum Qualifications Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years' experience in a related field.
Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in advertising, marketing or communications
Experience working in one of these industries: government, utility, energy
Experience developing integrated marketing communications plans
Experience managing marketing budgets
Certified project management professional or ability to obtain within six (6) months
Ability to travel to various locations for regular work assignments
Notes to Candidate Developing, implementing, monitoring and measuring integrated marketing communications plans
Creating customer-friendly key messaging that raises awareness and prompts action
Facilitating market research, persona development and customer journey mapping
Managing marketing budgets and media buys for designated areas
Working with graphic designers and other team members to create effective campaign creative and content
Evaluating effectiveness of marketing initiatives by tracking KPIs and metrics
This position has been designated as a Critical Employee position. Critical Employees are considered necessary and vital and supports activities that impact City or department operations. This work can be done while at a designated work site or while working at an alternate work location. Critical employees who are able to work at an alternative work location are required to do so. Schedules may be modified, and employees may be reassigned to another area during extraordinary situations or emergency conditions to provide essential services.

Pay Range Pay Range: $71,630.00 (Min) to $90,980.00 (Mid)
Days/Hours Days/Hours: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evenings, weekends and holidays may be required during emergencies.
