Join our Fountain Inn, SC team and help us keep production dependable, safe, and efficient.Your missionEnsure uptime by preventing problems before they occur, solving them fast when they do, and documenting what you learn so the team gets stronger. You’ll be a cross-disciplinary troubleshooter working on plastics extrusion and related systems.Champion safety protocols at all times.Install, maintain, and repair production assets: pumps, motors, gearboxes, plastic extruders, and auxiliary equipment.Execute scheduled PMs and record results in CMMS.Support and train less experienced technicians; operate with minimal oversight.Verify electrical health using meters and diagnostic instruments.Diagnose AC/DC motors and drives to root cause.Work with PLCs—understand operation, ladder diagrams, and basic troubleshooting.Decode and apply electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics; follow manuals and bulletins.Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts in accordance with safety rules.Utilize shop machinery and hand tools appropriately.Organize workload, manage priorities, and deliver on-time results.Keep plant and shop areas clean and orderly.Drive a company vehicle occasionally; valid driver’s license required.Take on other related tasks as needed.Communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking for procedures, reports, and team coordination.What it takesHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum 2 years of relevant experience plus an Associate’s in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experiencePhysical capabilityLift and carry up to 50 lbsClear hearing and speech for effective communicationCore technical competenciesDeveloping preventive maintenance schedulesHeavy equipment service and repairHVAC/R systems knowledgeMechanical failure analysis and troubleshootingWork with 120/208/240/480V power distributionInstalling and pulling conduitDiagnosing pneumatic circuitsBoiler operation and monitoringBroad-based maintenance and repair capabilitySafe heavy material handling practicesElectrical diagnostics for heavy equipmentSystem-level equipment diagnostics and troubleshootingMechanical subsystem and component repairsExperience with aerial/utility equipment platformsExposure to access control systemsPerforming machine safety inspectionsEquipment and systems you may supportFlexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS)Industrial blender/mixer equipmentRewards that back your impactHourly pay from $23.75 to $40.85 based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision coverage with low deductibles85% of insurance premiums paid by Teknor ApexWellness program discounts on medical premiumsUp to 7% employer 401(k) contributionPaid vacation and holidays$1,000 sign-on bonus, paid in three installmentsSalary progression during year one plus annual merit increasesRecognition program with points redeemable for great merchandiseLegalTeknor Apex is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any protected status under state or federal laws.
