Social Media Video EditorThe Christian Post is one of the largest and most widely read Christian news organizations in the world, reaching millions of readers across digital platforms each month. Our mission is to deliver news, analysis, and commentary that informs and equips the global Church. As our digital presence continues to grow across social media, we are expanding our creative team to bring that mission to the next generation of audiences through compelling video content.We are seeking a talented and creative Social Media Video Editor to join our team. In this role, you will transform raw footage and existing content into high-impact, platform-specific videos for YouTube, Instagram, X, TikTok, and other emerging channels. You will be a key creative voice in how The Christian Post engages audiences visually — helping to make world-class journalism immediately watchable, shareable, and resonant with both long-time readers and new audiences alike.This is a full-time position that combines editorial instinct, design sensibility, and technical mastery. The ideal candidate is someone who understands both the craft of storytelling and the mechanics of social media algorithms — and who is motivated by the mission of unapologetically reporting the truth through a Biblical lens, despite the cost.ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll DoEdit raw footage into engaging short-form videos tailored for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook, and longer videos for YouTube.Optimize video aspect ratios, pacing, and length to match the unique specs and algorithms of each platformIntegrate audio, licensed music, and voiceovers to maximize reach and engagementDesign and animate dynamic on-screen captions, lower thirds, and motion graphic overlaysBrand & StorytellingEnsure every video reflects The Christian Post's editorial standards, voice, and visual identityTransform long-form articles, interviews, and news stories into tight, compelling video narrativesDevelop reusable motion graphic templates and branded assets that maintain consistency across all channelsStay current on social video trends, formats, and best practices to keep CP content culturally relevantCollaboration & WorkflowPartner with editors, reporters, and the marketing team to align video output with editorial and campaign calendarsManage and maintain an organized media asset library — raw footage, B-roll, graphics, and audioMeet tight turnaround deadlines in a fast-paced, news-driven environmentContribute creative ideas in editorial and strategy meetings; pitch original video concepts proactivelyQualificationsWhat We're Looking ForRequired2+ years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio demonstrating short-form social contentProficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or equivalent industry-standard tools)Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook content formats and best practicesAbility to design and animate motion graphics, captions, and title cardsExcellent visual storytelling instincts — strong sense of pacing, rhythm, and narrative structureAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver polished work under deadlineStrong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating in a remote/hybrid environmentPreferredExperience working in a newsroom, digital media company, or faith-based organizationFamiliarity with social media analytics and the ability to iterate content based on performance dataExperience with DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar mobile-first editing platformsBasic graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop or IllustratorActive knowledge of and personal engagement with Christian media and cultureWhy The Christian PostWhat We OfferA mission-driven workplace where your work has meaningful cultural and spiritual impactCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceHealth, dental, and vision benefitsCollaborative, supportive team cultureOpportunity to shape the social video presence of one of the world's leading Christian news platformsHow to ApplyPlease fill out this application with your resume, a brief cover letter, and a portfolio or reel link (required).Applications submitted without a portfolio or reel will not be considered.
