Mackie Myers is working with a rapidly scaling consumer products business to appoint a Head of E-commerce.

This person will take ownership of a broad digital commerce remit, with responsibility for growing online sales while ensuring that growth is commercially sustainable.

The position goes well beyond simply managing a website. It will involve understanding how customers behave across different online channels, improving conversion, evaluating promotional activity, managing channel economics and helping the business build a stronger and more sophisticated e-commerce operation.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and develop the US e-commerce strategy across multiple digital channels
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue across DTC, marketplaces, social commerce and online retail partners
  • Analyze customer, channel and trading performance to understand what is driving growth
  • Improve conversion, customer journeys and overall digital performance
  • Work closely with marketing teams on acquisition, performance marketing and promotional strategy
  • Evaluate pricing, discounting and promotional activity with a strong focus on profitability and margin
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, finance, supply chain, operations and marketing
  • Collaborate with international stakeholders to align broader digital commerce initiatives
  • Introduce stronger reporting, processes and ways of working as the e-commerce function continues to mature

What we are looking for

  • Strong experience within e-commerce, digital commerce or online trading
  • A background in consumer products, CPG, beauty, wellness, lifestyle or another relevant consumer-facing category
  • Experience across a combination of DTC, Amazon/marketplaces, social commerce and digital retail
  • A strong understanding of customer acquisition, conversion and performance marketing
  • Commercial confidence around revenue, margin, pricing, promotions and P&L performance
  • Experience working within a growing, evolving or entrepreneurial business
  • The ability to use data to challenge assumptions and make better commercial decisions
  • A willingness to remain close to the detail rather than operating purely at a strategic level
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach with the ability to operate effectively in an environment that is still developing
