Performance Marketing Lead

BY Recruiting · New York, NY, USA · Remote ·

Job type:
Freelance

We're working with a fast growing, well funded AI startup building cutting edge detection technology used across education, security, and enterprise settings. The company is early stage but has real traction and is scaling quickly. They're looking for a Performance Marketer to own their paid acquisition strategy from the ground up.

What you'll do

Own and optimize the Google Ads program end to end, including account structure, keywords, bids, budget pacing, and experiment roadmap

Scale the Meta Ads program through rigorous creative testing, A/B experimentation, and iterative optimization

Launch new paid channels including TikTok, Reddit, and newsletter/CPM partnerships

Brief and direct creative production, working with in house support or freelance/agency partners

Build and maintain reporting on CAC, LTV, and ROAS to guide budget allocation and channel strategy

Ship new experiments weekly, keeping a tight feedback loop between creative performance and spend

Partner with the organic social and content team to amplify earned media through paid channels

What we're looking for

3 to 5+ years running paid acquisition across multiple channels, with a track record of building and scaling programs from scratch, particularly on Meta Ads

Experience managing six figure+ monthly budgets and directing creative testing loops

Comfort reasoning independently about CAC, LTV, and payback periods, no templates required

Bonus points for experience at a consumer subscription company or agency running paid social for competitive brands

Must be able to work in person in Brooklyn, NY (5 days a week, occasional WFH flexibility)

Not able to sponsor visas at this time

You'll own the entire paid acquisition strategy from day one, not inherit someone else's setup, with real budget (north of $1M/year) and freedom to experiment across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, and beyond. Direct line to the Head of Growth, with exposure to both consumer and B2B go to market motions.
