Location & work modality: United States, Texas - Houston (preferred) or Austin - hybrid, with regular presence in the Houston office
Start: ASAP
Type of Contract: Full Time / Permanent
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel required across North America, including regular travel to Houston (Submer office) and the West Coast (clients, events)
Reporting line: This is a group-level role reporting directly to the Global Marketing Director, Submer Group. You will be part of the global marketing team rather than reporting into a US country manager or a local business.
Working pattern: Time flexibility is a genuine requirement. You will work across European time zones to keep in-sync with the global marketing team, and the role carries the flexibility expectations that come with a fast-moving, group-level scale-up remit.
About Submer
Submer designs and delivers end-to-end AI datacenter infrastructure built on a strong legacy in industry-leading liquid cooling.
We help organizations scale AI beyond the limits of traditional data centers by enabling higher density, greater efficiency and lower environmental impact – accelerating time-to-AI from first deployment to full production.
What impact you will have
We are seeking a Regional Marketing Manager to own marketing strategy and execution across North America – taking central marketing strategy / objectives and deploying them locally.
You'll own North America marketing for the Submer Group and the companies within it that cover the full AI infrastructure stack, working at the cutting edge of one of the most dynamic industries in tech - and helping us build that future the responsible way, driven by a strong green agenda at the heart of how we grow.
You will play a key role in shaping how the North America region builds and powers its digital future. By developing and executing regional marketing strategy, strengthening partner relationships, and driving brand visibility, you'll help Submer become North America's trusted leader in sustainable digital infrastructure.
You will be our first full-mix marketing hire in North America, with a remit spanning multiple companies across the group. That breadth is unusual: full-stack coverage of the AI infrastructure landscape gives you a vista on the industry that few marketing roles offer, alongside direct exposure to the executives shaping it.
Submer is in the middle of a significant transformation from a liquid cooling specialist into a full-stack AI infrastructure group. This is a chance to help shape a business as it is being built rather than maintain something already set in stone - and to grow the region's marketing function, and potentially a team, around you.
Role overview
You will help build the global marketing strategy and own the adoption and execution of it for the North American region - adapting global campaigns and messaging to the region's market dynamics.
Equally important, you will operate as part of the group's global marketing team. Some of your work will be global - brand, content and campaign programs delivered with colleagues in Europe - and some will involve tailoring that same work to the North America market. You will also be the on-the-ground marketing partner for the group companies and senior leaders operating from the US.
This is a foundation-building role. There is no established marketing function in the region and no playbook waiting for you: expect to define what good looks like, build regional marketing processes close to from scratch, wear several hats at once, and be comfortable with autonomy, leading from the front and frequent change synonymous with tech companies as the market and demands shift.
You will have proven experience driving B2B marketing strategy across North America, including customer engagement, partner collaboration, ABM, and multichannel campaigns. Skilled in partnering with commercial and technical colleagues to grow market presence, you combine technical credibility with strategic marketing acumen and genuinely hands-on execution in technology-driven businesses. You proactively monitor market dynamics, ensuring marketing strategies are aligned with regional priorities and emerging trends.
What you'll do
1. Regional Strategy & Budget
Develop the North America regional marketing plan, aligned to global strategies and initiatives
Allocate budget across channels
2. Marketing Program Execution
Develop and implement regional marketing campaigns and tailor content to the North America market, across both digital and in-person channels
Plan, coordinate, and execute Submer's participation in industry events, roundtables, and forums, and represent Submer at key industry and government initiatives
Own event delivery end to end - logistics, messaging, on-site execution and follow-up - sometimes single-handedly, and always willing to be at the sharp end on the day
Support senior leadership on speaking slots, briefings and executive visibility at regional events, including at short notice
Track, measure, and report on the effectiveness of regional marketing initiatives
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work as an integrated member of the group marketing execution team, contributing to global brand, content and campaign work as well as adapting corporate campaigns to regional and partner needs
Act as the marketing partner for US-based group company leadership and commercial teams
Embed marketing into the day-to-day conversation across the group companies operating from the US, so that marketing is brought in early rather than called in late
Provide regional insights and feedback to inform global marketing strategy
4. Market & Industry Intelligence
Monitor industry trends, government-led funding programs (e.g. AI and digital transformation initiatives), and regulatory developments across the region
Anticipate market shifts and advise internal stakeholders on opportunities for Submer to align with national and regional priorities
Leverage insights to shape campaign strategy, event participation, partner strategies, and localized marketing content
What you'll need
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration/Management, Communications, Public Relations or related fields, if paired with relevant marketing experience
Or equivalent experience: relevant hands‑on experience in regional marketing, field marketing, partner marketing, communications or events management may substitute for a formal degree
A minimum of 5 years' experience in B2B marketing - regional or field marketing, partner marketing, event management, and/or communications and PR. We are open to this being a step up into your first senior regional role if you bring the right breadth and attitude
Strong understanding of B2B marketing in technology-driven sectors, including campaign strategy and budget management. A background in AI infrastructure, data centers, IT and power infrastructure, or enterprise software is ideal - what matters is credibility with technical subject matter and technical audiences from day one
Direct, day-to-day exposure to C-level stakeholders, with the presence to manage senior
