Sr. Specialist, Reliability - I&E

based in Sweeny. This critical role within our Manufacturing & Projects division offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement and operational excellence of our plant electrical distribution systems. As a key member of our Technical team, you will play an instrumental role in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient electrical infrastructure that supports our production goals.

This position is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in electrical systems within petrochemical or manufacturing environments, who are passionate about driving maintenance excellence and strategic reliability improvements.

Responsibilities

Ensures safe and reliable operation of the plant electrical distribution system

Implements reliability best practices and optimized preventive maintenance tasks

Ensures procedural compliance with company, industry, and regulatory standards

Leads reliability improvement efforts and provides support and direction in completing repairs to electrical equipment and power distribution systems

Manages and maintains proper maintenance records & reports in accordance with industrial and regulatory requirements

Performs predictive and preventive electrical maintenance functions and instrumentation loops

Executes preventive and breakdown maintenance work for all related equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner

Implements Most Effective Technology (MET), work process, tools and industry best practices

Supports the implementation of new designs (factory acceptance testing, supporting commissioning)

Identify ways to reduce costs, improve reliability and enhance safety and environmental performance

Provides technical knowledge, whilst determining specifications of new and replacement equipment and assets

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED

At least 7 years of electrical experience in the petrochemical, chemical or manufacturing industry

Strong knowledge of medium voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) power distribution systems including power system protection and relay settings

Resolve and plan for obsolescence issues concerning the facilities instrumentation and electrical equipment.

Knowledge of electrical equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, protection relays (Motor, differential, feeder), transformers, substations, and motors

Instrument and Electrical QA/QC experience

Understanding of electrical drawings such as one and three lines, area classification, motor control schematics, wiring and relay diagrams

Experience with OSHA, Electrical Safe Work Practice (NFPA 70E), and NEC

Preferred Qualifications

Has working knowledge of ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower

Has working knowledge with SAP, APM, and/or PowerDB

FAT/SAT experience

Experience in CdM type maintenance such as: PdMA, Ultrasonic, Infrared Thermography

Has used and conducted assessment tools such as RCA, FMEA, MTBR, 5-Why/WhyTree, or others
