Position Overview
Broussard, David, & Moroux is a top personal injury law firm in downtown Lafayette that offers potential for advancement, annual salary increases, holiday bonuses, a generous holiday schedule, and 100% employer-paid benefits for employees. We are currently seeking a seasoned Marketing Director-level executive to set the direction for all firm-wide marketing, communications, and business development initiatives across our Lafayette, Covington, and New Orleans offices. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to firm partners, and the ideal candidate will bring executive presence, a proven record of driving measurable growth at a prior organization, a sharp eye for brand and messaging, and the seniority to command confidence from firm leadership from day one. Based on demonstrated performance, we expect this person to earn a seat on the firm’s Leadership Team within their first year — this role is intended to shape how the firm operates, not simply execute marketing tasks.
Responsibilities
Set and own the firm’s overall marketing strategy, brand positioning, and annual marketing plan;
Serve as the primary point of contact with named partners on marketing direction, translating partner feedback into actionable guidelines and campaigns;
Lead, mentor, and manage marketing team members and coordinate cross-functional work with attorneys and staff;
Direct and evaluate relationships with outside vendors, including design, media buying, and advertising partners;
Oversee firm-wide advertising campaigns across digital, broadcast, billboard, and print channels, including budget management and ROI reporting;
Ensure all marketing content and brand assets comply with Louisiana Rules of Professional Conduct and other applicable advertising regulations;
Own brand governance – voice, visual identity, and messaging consistency – across all attorney, office, and practice-area materials;
Guide the firm’s digital presence, including website strategy, SEO, social media strategy, and reputation management;
Develop and present marketing performance reporting and strategic recommendations to firm leadership;
Lead crisis communications and high-visibility PR moments, including media inquiries and public statements;
Identify and cultivate referral partner and community relationships that reinforce the firm’s courtroom identity, and
Manage the marketing budget and vendor contracts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field; advanced degree a plus;
10+ years of progressive marketing/communications experience, including at least 5+ years in a Director-level or above role with direct ownership of budget, staff, and firm-wide strategy; law firm or professional services marketing required;
Demonstrated experience managing outside agencies, media buyers, and creative vendors, including seven-figure annual marketing budgets and multi-market or multi-location campaigns;
Strong understanding of legal advertising rules and compliance considerations, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly;
Proven track record building and executing integrated campaigns across digital, broadcast, and print;
Excellent writing, editing, and executive-level presentation skills;
Experience managing marketing budgets and reporting on ROI to firm leadership; and
Strong people-management skills, with prior experience building, leading, and developing a marketing team as a department head or director.
Experience with CRM software is required; experience with legal case management software, such as SmartAdvocate, is preferred.
