Based in New York and reporting to the senior leadership team overseeing Business Development and Investor Relations, this role will focus on institutional capital formation and relationship development. The Director will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new institutional investor relationships while strengthening existing partnerships and supporting long-term asset growth.
The ideal candidate is an established capital-raising professional with a strong institutional network, particularly across the US and demonstrated experience raising capital for sophisticated credit, private markets, or other specialized investment strategies. Success in the role will require strong relationship‑management skills, commercial judgment, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support institutional fundraising initiatives across a range of investment strategies, including private credit, structured credit, and other specialized or less traditional asset classes.
- Identify, cultivate, and convert relationships with pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, RIAs, consultants, and other institutional allocators.
- Manage and contribute to the complete fundraising process, from initial prospecting and relationship development through due diligence, subscription, closing, and subsequent allocations.
- Develop and execute a regional investor coverage strategy focused on achieving broader fundraising and asset‑growth objectives.
- Represent the investment platform with senior decision‑makers at institutional investors, consultants, and other market participants.
- Clearly communicate the firm's investment approach, portfolio construction, risk framework, performance history, and differentiated capabilities across complex strategies.
- Participate in investor presentations, due diligence meetings, industry conferences, roadshows, and other business‑development activities in partnership with investment professionals and senior management.
- Work closely with Investor Relations, Marketing, and Product teams to develop compelling messaging, positioning, and investor materials tailored to target markets.
- Gather and communicate market intelligence, competitive insights, and allocator feedback to inform fundraising priorities and product strategy.
- Identify opportunities to expand the investor base into new channels, segments, and geographic markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing investors, supporting retention, additional commitments, re‑ups, and opportunities to introduce complementary strategies.
- Maintain accurate and disciplined tracking of prospects, opportunities, activity, and fundraising pipelines through the firm's CRM and reporting processes.
- Collaborate effectively across the organization and contribute to a high‑performance, entrepreneurial culture as the investment platform continues to expand.
