Job Description ABOUT HIKE

Hike is a fast-growing marketplace agency backed by Sportique, a global commerce platform with 17+ years of experience scaling, investing in, and acquiring premium brands.

We help established brands build profitable, sustainable businesses across Amazon and other marketplaces through strategy, operations, advertising, content, catalog management, analytics, and performance-driven growth.

We work with premium brands across beauty, wellness, CPG, home, outdoor, technology, fashion, and lifestyle.

Our team is collaborative, highly accountable, and focused on doing exceptional work for brands we genuinely believe in.

We’re looking for a senior Amazon operator with deep Vendor Central and 1P experience who can lead large, sophisticated brands through growth.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Amazon Brand Manager at Hike, you’ll act as the strategic business owner for a portfolio of larger and more complex Amazon brands, with a particular focus on Vendor Central and 1P businesses.

You’ll be the primary strategic partner for founders, ecommerce leaders, commercial teams, marketing leaders, and executives — responsible for understanding the business, identifying the biggest opportunities and risks, setting the Amazon strategy, and leading our internal teams to execute against it.

This is not primarily an advertising role.

We’re looking for someone who understands how the entire Amazon business fits together — demand, Amazon purchasing behavior, shipped COGS, inventory, forecasting, profitability, advertising, content, catalog, operations, deductions, promotions, and vendor negotiations.

You should be able to move comfortably between the details and the boardroom — diagnosing a Vendor Central operational issue one minute and explaining the commercial implications of Amazon’s purchasing behavior to a CEO, CMO, CSO, or VP of Ecommerce the next.

You’ll work alongside specialists across Advertising, DSP, SEO, Content, Creative, Catalog, Merchandising, and Operations, while owning the client relationship, strategic direction, and overall performance of your brands.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Own the overall strategy, growth, profitability, and health of assigned Amazon businesses

Serve as the senior strategic partner for founders, executives, ecommerce leaders, and commercial teams

Lead sophisticated Vendor Central / 1P accounts with meaningful revenue and operational complexity

Develop and lead short- and long-term Amazon growth plans

Own the connection between consumer demand, Amazon purchasing behavior, shipped COGS, inventory, advertising, and profitability

Analyze Amazon purchase orders, confirmation rates, inventory position, weeks of cover, sell-through, and ordering trends

Help brands improve forecasting and navigate Amazon’s purchasing behavior

Monitor shortages, deductions, chargebacks, compliance issues, and recovery opportunities

Support brands in working with Amazon Vendor Managers, AVS teams, and other Amazon contacts

Help evaluate and prepare for annual vendor negotiations, co-op agreements, allowances, Net PPM, and other commercial terms

Identify growth opportunities proactively across advertising, content, catalog, pricing, assortment, Subscribe & Save, promotions, and marketplace expansion

Partner with our Advertising team on full-funnel strategy across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, DSP, and AMC

Oversee meaningful advertising budgets and ensure spend is aligned with broader commercial goals

Monitor and interpret key metrics including shipped COGS, ordered revenue, POS, TACoS, ROAS, CVR, contribution margin, inventory health, profitability, and revenue growth

Lead product launches, promotional strategies, seasonal planning, and campaign-scaling plans

Translate business strategy into clear priorities and execution plans for internal teams

Coordinate specialists across Advertising, DSP, SEO, Content, Creative, Catalog, Merchandising, and Operations

Review and QA important client-facing work and strategic recommendations

Anticipate operational and commercial issues before they become client problems

Lead resolution when Amazon-related challenges arise

Help brands evaluate international Amazon marketplaces and additional marketplace opportunities

Mentor less-experienced Brand Managers and contribute to improving Hike’s internal processes, playbooks, and operating standards

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

7–10+ years of meaningful Amazon, ecommerce, marketplace, retail media, or brand-side experience

Deep hands-on experience with Amazon Vendor Central

Proven ownership of large or complex Amazon 1P businesses

Experience managing brands doing meaningful seven-figure or eight-figure revenue on Amazon

Experience managing $20M+ Amazon businesses strongly preferred

Strong understanding of Amazon purchase orders, shipped COGS, ordered revenue, forecasting, confirmation rates, inventory, and sell-through

Experience with shortages, deductions, chargebacks, compliance, and recovery processes

Experience working directly with Amazon Vendor Managers and/or AVS

Understanding of annual vendor negotiations, allowances, co-op, Net PPM, and Amazon profitability

Strong commercial understanding of growth, profitability, contribution margin, inventory, and working capital

Strong understanding of Amazon Advertising and how it connects to the broader retail business

Experience overseeing substantial advertising budgets

Strong familiarity with Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and broader retail media strategy

Amazon DSP and AMC experience strongly preferred

Ability to analyze complex performance data and turn it into clear strategic recommendations

Experience developing strategy rather than simply executing against someone else’s plan

Confidence working directly with Directors, VPs, founders, CEOs, CMOs, CSOs, and senior ecommerce leaders

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Strong judgment, organization, and attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sophisticated brands and priorities simultaneously

Experience working cross-functionally across advertising, operations, supply chain, finance, ecommerce, and creative teams

Agency experience is valuable, but not required.

We’re equally interested in senior brand-side, ecommerce, marketplace, Amazon-native, former Amazon, and agency operators who have personally owned meaningful Amazon businesses.
