Brighton, Michigan | Full-Time, In-Office | $80,000–$85,000 annually
About the Opportunity
This is not your typical creative marketing position. We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, results-driven Marketing Operations Director who loves turning plans into results, managing multiple moving parts, improving processes, and ensuring work gets done exceptionally well.
Our marketing includes educational dinner seminars, retirement workshops, movie events, television, digital marketing, and client experiences. Established external partners provide creative services, advertising, and campaign support. You will bring these pieces together by leading execution, managing vendors, coordinating campaigns and events, and tracking performance.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional operator who understands marketing—not simply a creative marketer. This hands-on leadership role offers significant ownership and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning, coordination, and execution of marketing initiatives.
Manage the marketing calendar across multiple locations and channels.
Translate strategy into plans with timelines, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
Ensure campaigns and events are delivered accurately and on schedule.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.
Marketing Analytics & Performance
Monitor lead generation, appointment conversion, client acquisition, and marketing ROI.
Maintain marketing dashboards and key performance indicators.
Track expenses and compare performance across channels.
Identify trends, underperforming initiatives, and opportunities.
Provide regular reports and actionable recommendations to leadership.
Serve as primary contact for agencies, advertising partners, and service providers.
Coordinate deliverables, budgets, deadlines, and performance expectations.
Hold vendors accountable and recommend improvements.
Event Marketing & Coordination
Oversee seminars, retirement workshops, movie events, and client experiences.
Coordinate venues, schedules, registrations, materials, and logistics.
Manage part-time event support personnel for setup, check-in, and on-site logistics.
Develop standardized event processes and checklists.
Marketing Systems & Process Improvement
Oversee marketing workflows, lead tracking, CRM processes, and campaign coordination.
Collaborate with sales and advisors on lead handoffs and reporting.
Use technology, automation, and AI to improve efficiency.
Build repeatable systems that support growth.
Leadership & Accountability
Own department performance and execution.
Manage support personnel and coordinate across departments.
Anticipate challenges and solve problems proactively.
Communicate priorities, progress, and results clearly.
Foster a positive, collaborative, accountable environment.
This position focuses primarily on event planning, management, and oversight rather than routinely staffing evening events.
Qualifications
Required
5+ years of experience in marketing operations, marketing management, project management, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience managing projects, deadlines, and external vendors.
Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
Experience with performance metrics, data analysis, and reporting.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and own results.
Proficiency with CRM systems, spreadsheets, project management tools, and modern business technology.
Preferred
Experience in financial services, professional services, or another relationship-driven industry.
Event-based marketing and marketing budget/ROI experience.
Familiarity with lead funnels, marketing automation, and CRM integrations.
Experience supervising employees or support staff.
Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
Experience improving processes and operational efficiency.
Financial services experience is helpful but not required. We value operational excellence, sound judgment, and ownership.
Who Will Thrive Here?
You enjoy organization, systems, checklists, and smooth execution.
You are comfortable coordinating people, vendors, and competing deadlines.
You like working with numbers and measuring results.
You anticipate issues rather than waiting for emergencies.
You improve processes instead of simply maintaining them.
You communicate clearly, collaborate well, and bring positive energy.
You value autonomy, accountability, and visible impact.
You do not need to be a graphic designer, social media influencer, or advertising creative. You do need to take ownership of a marketing operation and make it run exceptionally well.

Annual salary: $80,000–$85,000, based on experience and qualifications. Full-time, primarily Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Based in Brighton, with occasional travel to our Utica office and local marketing events.
