Plaid is hiring a part-time contract video/line producer to own day-to-day production logistics for our shoots, from pre-pro through final asset delivery. You will be the single person accountable for the details that fall between teams: supplies, schedules, equipment, crew coordination, and handoff to post.
Video is growing into a fully functioning arm of Plaid's creative team. This role helps us set up the routines and workflows that will support our series shoots, including our podcast.
Must be located in San Francisco. $100/hr, 20-30 hrs/week.
What you’ll do
Examples of what you’ll be supporting:
Pre-production
Source and purchase set items and shoot supplies, working from the running supplies list and lessons from prior shoots
Collect wardrobe details from the guest's team and pass them to hair and makeup
Make sure any book or prop referenced on camera is on hand
Rent equipment (cameras, audio, lighting) based on the video team's needs, and manage vendor quotes
Build the day-of schedule and call sheet, and distribute them to crew and Plaid staff
Schedule and run the pre-production call
Production
Manage day-of setup needs and coordinate the crew
Set up the room and Zoom with the crew, the creative team, and WPE (workplace experience team)
Manage all equipment inventory: check-in, check-out, and locking up gear
Confirm audio and video capture meets post-production specs, including backup recordings and file naming
Run wrap: return gear, close out vendor contracts, and capture lessons learned for the next season
Post-production
Manage the review cycle and the asset delivery schedule
Make sure deliverables are prepped for each platform: audio feeds, YouTube, clips, social cutdowns, and transcripts
What you’ll bring
Experience producing or line producing video shoots, ideally podcast, interview, or branded content
Hands-on experience renting and managing camera, audio, and lighting equipment, and comparing vendor quotes
Strong written and verbal communication: you can brief a crew, a guest's team, and internal stakeholders on the same day
A habit of building checklists and schedules that other people can follow without you in the room
Working knowledge of post-production handoff: file naming, backups, review rounds, and platform specs for audio, YouTube, and social
Comfort working independently as a contractor with a small, cross-functional team
Nice to have
Experience in a tech, fintech, or in-house creative environment
Experience producing podcasts for tech companies
Experience setting up production workflows for a team that is still building them
