Interaction Designer

ARS is looking for an Interaction Designer who can create quickly, ideate and wireframe unique interactive experiences.

The ideal candidate has experience with creating, testing and level balancing. They must be well-organized and have great attention to detail - along with an understanding of how story can be incorporated into puzzles and gameplay. This role interfaces with the VP of Interaction and Game Design on a daily basis to walk through and massage mechanics and experience flow.

Qualifications

3-5+ years of level design experience

Avid player of puzzles and games

A firm understanding of a variety of game mechanics and genres

Experience with ideating, rapid prototyping and developing innovative gameplay

Examples of published games/puzzles/interactives, in a variety of media formats

Experience with designing game interface and controls

Proven track record of creating interactive experiences for top-tier brands/IP

Previous experience of level design for a commercial entertainment product

Firm understanding of UX design principles

Able to improve existing game mechanics

Able to take direction

Able to work independently and with a team

Work well with a fast-paced schedule

QA experience

Excellent oral and written English language skills

Responsibilities

Research and development of cutting edge gameplay and technologies

Work closely with the UX/Experience Design Team to design and optimize features

Self-manage and work in an environment of high autonomy

Support VP of Interaction as needed

Interact regularly with the Design, Visual, Engineering, and Production teams

Preferences

Experience in game and design documentation

Experience in presenting interaction concepts

Proficiency in clear wireframing of interface flow

A thorough understanding of application development from design to deployment

Experience with Adobe CC for visualization of interaction concepts

Knowledge of current content trends in AR/VR, social and interactive technologies
