About the role

Town & Country Living is looking for an Art Director to lead the creative direction of our product imagery and brand visuals. This is a hands-on creative leadership role reporting to the SVP of Licensing and Marketing. You will guide photographers/videographers, retouchers, designers, and outside partners while staying close to the work yourself. You will partner with Product Development, Sales, Marketing, and E-commerce to turn product stories into images that sell, in-store and online. Packaging design and production sit with the packaging team; this role directs the photography that appears on packaging.

Creative Direction

  • Own and evolve TNC's visual identity across all channels and keep brand guidelines current.

  • Lead visual concept development for seasonal collections, campaigns, and product launches.

  • Present creative concepts to senior leadership, customers, and retail partners, and build alignment.

Photography, Video and Packaging Imagery

  • Art direct product, lifestyle, and room-set photo & video shoots for e-commerce, packaging, and marketing, from creating shot lists, style guides, and mood boards to on-set direction.

  • Set photography standards for packaging imagery and partner with the packaging team, so that images fit layouts, print specs, and deadlines.

  • Work with licensors’ brand teams to create photography style guides that set direction for the photo team.

  • Review and approve all final imagery and retouching.

E-commerce and Digital Asset

  • Direct the creation of e-commerce assets: main images, alternate views, infographics, enhanced (A+) content, and lifestyle imagery.

  • Set image and content standards that meet retailer and marketplace requirements (e.g., Amazon, Walmart.com, Wayfair, retailer sites).

  • Work with E-commerce to refresh listings and improve visual performance based on results.

  • Oversee asset delivery, file naming, and specs so retailers and internal teams get the right files on time.

Graphic Design

  • Lead the design of corporate materials such as brochures, catalogs, look books, line sheets, and company overviews.

  • Create or direct visuals for sales decks, line reviews, and trade show materials.

  • Assist with showroom signage graphics for market week.

  • Keep all designed pieces consistent with TNC brand guidelines.

Team and Process Leadership

  • Give day-to-day creative direction to the photographer/videographer, stylist, and retoucher, and guide freelance stylists and photographers.

  • Works with Creative Studio Manager to establish and execute photographic guidelines.

  • Manage creative timelines, priorities, and approvals across multiple projects at once.

  • Keep working and final files organized, clearly named, and tagged with accurate metadata for teams to find easily.

Qualifications

Required

  • A strong portfolio showing product photography art direction, e-commerce content, and graphic design. Submissions without portfolios will not be considered.

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of design experience, including 3+ years in an art direction or creative lead role.

  • Experience leading and developing a creative team.

  • Proven ability to manage several projects and deadlines at once in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred

  • Experience and interest in home furnishings, home textiles, consumer products, or retail.
