Salary:

$40,000–$55,000, depending on experience
The Laconia Daily Sun, an award-winning, independently owned newspaper with a free circulation of 16,000, is looking for a reporter to cover New Hampshire's Lakes Region.
Our communities are growing and changing, with important stories to tell about the issues that shape daily life and the people who live here. We want a reporter who looks beyond meeting agendas and official statements to explain what's happening, why it matters, and how it affects readers.
The work is varied. Cover breaking news, local politics, police and courts with accuracy and clarity. Profile people and tell their stories with empathy and insight. Help voters understand the issues and candidates in local elections. Dig into complex subjects and pursue investigative stories while keeping up with daily deadlines. Take photographs that help tell the story.
We value curiosity, initiative, sound news judgment, and clear writing. You should be comfortable asking tough questions, developing sources, working with public records, and managing several stories at once. Photography skills are important, and experience with digital reporting and publishing is a plus.
