Founding Account Executive

VAIF Studio is a generative AI platform and backend for building software. Describe what you want in plain language, shape it on a visual schema canvas, or write the code yourself — all three work on the same project.
We are based in Detroit and very early. Today VAIF is built by one developer, so every role on this page is a first hire: wide ownership, direct work with the founder, and real influence on how the company operates.
About the role VAIF is built for individual builders, agencies, and growing software teams. As our first account executive you will own revenue from first conversation to signed agreement, working directly with the founder.
There is no playbook yet. You will build it — who we sell to, how we qualify, how we demo, and what we hear back — and hand what you learn straight to product.
What you’ll do Run the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, demos, proposals, and close
Build and manage your own pipeline, with honest forecasts
Give clear, confident demos of a technical product to technical and non-technical buyers
Bring what you hear from prospects back to product and marketing, in writing
Help define how we qualify, price, and package for teams and agencies
You might be a good fit if Three or more years closing B2B software deals, ideally with technical buyers
A track record of building pipeline yourself rather than only working inbound leads
Comfortable learning a technical product deeply enough to demo it without a script
Thrive without a playbook, and enjoy writing one
Nice to have You have sold developer tools, cloud software, or products to digital agencies
Experience as an early or first sales hire
Some hands-on experience building software or websites yourself
How we work Remote, with working hours overlapping US time zones.
Written first: decisions, proposals, and hand-offs are written down so they survive the call.
Small, shippable steps over big reveals. We would rather release something useful this week than something perfect next quarter.
Early-stage honesty: priorities move, process is still being invented, and you will help invent it.
