Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Packaging Designer to lead the creative development and execution of packaging for our accessory division. This role combines hands-on design expertise with a strong focus on team leadership, overseeing both in-house and remote packaging designers. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for driving packaging innovation that enhances brand identity and consumer appeal.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage a team of packaging designers, providing creative direction, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality execution across all projects.
  • Oversee workflow and project timelines, balancing in-office and remote resources to meet deadlines and business needs.
  • Mentor junior designers and support professional development through coaching, design reviews, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a positive, solution-oriented team culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
Project & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as the primary point of contact for packaging projects, coordinating with manufacturing partners from artwork submission to proofing and approval.
  • Work closely with sales, product development, and licensing teams to deliver packaging solutions that meet brand standards and retail requirements.
  • Develop packaging for key retail accounts, tailoring designs to specific consumer preferences and market needs.
Creative Execution & Technical Expertise
  • Review and approve final artwork and proofs with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and print-readiness.
  • Interpret dielines and measurements to ensure precise product-to-packaging fit and functionality.
  • Update dieline artwork to scale, incorporating accurate color specifications, legal copy, and product information.
  • Use Adobe Illustrator for packaging design and make light photo edits in Photoshop as needed.
  • Create compelling, on-brand packaging mockups for internal and external presentations.
Brand Development & Innovation
  • Create packaging guidelines and toolkits for new accessories licenses, ensuring alignment with licensor requirements.
  • Refine existing packaging copy and visual elements to reflect product updates and buyer feedback.
  • Research industry and consumer trends to develop innovative packaging formats and seasonal designs.
  • Conceptualize and design unique gift boxes and promotional packaging based on market trends and seasonal campaigns.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of packaging design experience, preferably in fashion, beauty, or consumer goods.
  • 2+ years of leadership or team management experience, with the ability to guide both in-office and remote designers.
  • Expertise in packaging production, dielines, materials, and print processes.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for thoughtful, brand-forward design.
