Our legal client located Downtown Indianapolis is seeking a Proposal Writer to add to their growing team. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting the firm’s growth and client engagement efforts by crafting compelling, client-focused content that resonates with health care clients and stakeholders. With a focus on long-form copy such as legal and consulting proposals, RFP responses, thought leadership articles, and other strategic content, the Proposal Writer will be instrumental in supporting the firm’s growth and elevating our profile in the marketplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage intake meetings with attorneys, advisors and colleagues, and develop initial outlines for responses to attorney-generated and “de novo” Requests for Proposal.
  • Develop error-free, persuasive and highly technical content for proposals, RFP responses, thought leadership pieces and client presentations that communicate the firm’s unique value proposition and expertise in health care legal and advisory services.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Business Development, Business Development Specialist, Vice President of Business Development, and other key team members to tailor clear, convincing content to meet the needs of specific audiences.
  • Conduct research to gain and maintain a deep understanding of clients, competitors, and industry trends, and incorporate findings into written materials.
  • Maintain a consistent tone and brand voice across all business development and marketing content, including RFP/RFQ/RFI responses and other content that may need to be produced as needed.
  • Support the firm’s content strategy by developing articles, case studies, and other long-form pieces showcasing thought leadership and industry insights.
  • Work closely with the Business Development Specialist and other cross-functional team members to ensure timely creation and delivery of high-quality content that meets internal expectations and consistently favorably impresses prospects and clients.
  • Edit and proofread materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, professionalism, and alignment with the firm’s brand standards and messaging.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in content creation for professional services, with a proven track record of success in long-form copywriting, including grant writing, RFP responses, feature writing, and/or speech writing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to distill complex ideas into clear, persuasive language.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, with many details, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of the health care industry is a plus.
