Do you love magazines and journalism? Get all tingly when you read travel stories? Enjoy tracking down experts to answer your pressing questions? If so, then Via may have the perfect freelance gig for you.

Via is the AAA magazine for eight western states: California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Alaska. As such, we deliver regional travel information and member news to more than 3 million households with print editions, a website, and an email newsletter.

We’re currently seeking a freelance fact-checker with strong reporting, writing, research, phone, and people skills. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and organized. Prior professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in journalism (or a related field) are strongly preferred.

Assignments entail verifying the accuracy of features and shorter articles. Lead time varies from 1 to 3 weeks. Guidelines provided.

To apply, email a link to (or PDF of) your resume and 3 to 5 relevant published stories with “freelance fact checker” in the subject line by June 19, 2016.
