Senior Editor - Flexible, Freelance Opportunity at DC-based Startup
DC Startup Seeking Senior Editor/ Writing Coach for Content Marketing Team
Flexible opportunity for DC-based freelance journalists
Clutch (https://clutch.co) is an established and rapidly growing startup based in Dupont Circle, Washington DC. Our goal is to connect small and medium businesses with the agencies and software solutions that can help them accomplish their business goals.
How does this work? We conduct extensive research on agencies and software in an array of categories – advertising and marketing, web design and development, mobile app development, and IT solutions. We interview past clients to learn about the customer’s experience. We rate the agencies and software based on our findings.
In the past year, our website traffic and revenue has more than doubled. And, we are on pace to continue that trend in 2017.
Our marketing team currently produces long-form research articles on marketing, IT, and business services topics. We collect original data through survey research and publish articles summarizing the findings on Clutch.
Currently, we have the building blocks in place for how we develop our type of content. We have a process for collecting original data to develop stories that will attract some amount of earned media coverage and traffic from business audiences. We have been working through this process for a little over a year.
We have a small team of 5 passionate writers who you would be coaching, all of whom graduated from top universities in the last two years. Everyone has expressed interest in getting help from a coach and improving their personal writing abilities.
We have an aspirational goal and style we would like to achieve but have struggled to execute on it as the team grows. We would like to improve our mechanics, organization, voice, presentation, and storytelling in order to take our skills to the next level and become known for the quality of our content.
