Role Purpose
SYFY is looking for a dynamic, genre-passionate candidate with a wide-ranging and extensive background in Program Scheduling. This person should be a creative thinker who will be responsible for creating, populating, maintaining and distributing schedules for SYFY.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage short-term planning, scheduling and stunting on the network with the goal of driving ratings
  • Create, build, maintain and distribute monthly schedules
  • Constantly monitor ratings and performance trends, recommend and implement strategies to improve content performance
  • Brainstorm, pitch and schedule programming stunts to drive ratings, secure sponsorships and bolster the Syfy brand
  • Research monthly movie titles and analyze past performance
  • Schedule movies and episodes on a monthly basis
  • Handle all necessary schedule changes, including time sensitive revisions
  • Coordinate Original Series episodic scheduling with executives in LA and NYC
  • Monitor movie and series usage, including series run counts
  • Screen all episodes to be scheduled for series
  • Manage scheduling system data entry
  • Work with Operations to determine formatting and distribute off the clock scenarios
  • Work with Marketing & Ad Sales to coordinate all sponsored stunts
  • Liaison with On-Air promotions and Traffic
  • Liaison with Digital and Metadata teams; participate in metadata
  • Liaison with PR and listings to report accurate Syfy programming information
  • Manage and distribute various reports supplied to our internal partners
  • Troubleshoot the Compass scheduling system and suggest enhancements
  • Serve as seamless coverage for Director and Coordinator of Program Scheduling
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Monitor industry trends and events and report back to the larger team


  • •Bachelor’s degree in communication, television or related field
    •Minimum of 4 years working in programming or scheduling
    •Minimum of 5 years working in television or related field
    •Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint
    •Exceptional attention to detail
    •Passion for the science fiction genre
    •Flexibility with day to day schedule
    •Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and drive them to completion

    •Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    •Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    •Flexible, organized and detail oriented
