- Full Time

From high-speed broadband and ultra-HD video, to digital advertising solutions, local news and voice offerings, we are making connections possible around the country -- to businesses, to consumers, to communities, to schools, to hospitals, and everyone in between.
News 12 Networks is the first, largest and most watched 24-hour local television news network in the country, with seven individual local news channels and five traffic and weather channels serving Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, Westchester, Hudson Valley, the Bronx, and Brooklyn.
This is a hybrid role for someone who’s digitally savvy and has a sharp nose for news. Picture yourself listening to police scanners, reading news wires, calling police to confirm information, uploading video and Tweeting breaking news at the same time. If this environment is exciting to you, we’d love to talk to you.
Your role would be split into two parts:
On the assignment desk, you would be responsible for tracking breaking news and dispatching reporters/photographers. You’re in constant communication with news crews while remaining calm under pressure. The job requires making calls to set up interviews for news stories and gathering relevant information. The ability to organize and distill a constant flow of information is critical.
On the digital front, you wear the hat of multimedia producer. You would be responsible for visually covering spot news, general news, features, sports, business and web only assignments in a professional journalistic manner in whatever medium - video, photography, audio, etc. - is most appropriate for the assignment. The role also requires editing the work of others.
Job requires proven visual story-telling ability, proficiency in video, audio, digital photography processes (including Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, Final Cut, Soundtrack Pro, Motion, and other video and audio editing software) as well as proficiency with studio lighting and techniques. General computing skills such as text editors, spreadsheets, FTP, HTML as well as the ability to write clean copy are essential. The person is a motivated, self-starter who is constantly seeking out stories that fall outside of the traditional news gathering cycle.
The position is based in Yonkers, NY. Knowledge of Westchester County and the Hudson Valley is a plus. The role may involve travel and will require a flexible schedule with nights and weekends.
