Role Purpose
The Business Analyst role will collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to translate big product ideas and business requirements into strategic roadmaps, budgets and KPIs. The role will think beyond what’s on paper in order to help identify risks and solve problems by aligning organizations, processes, systems and vendors in order to delight customers and optimize business performance. The Business Analyst will help develop, model, capture, calculate and document business systems and processes, operational and technical workflows, cost models, and general business and product requirements.

  • Support senior leadership with identifying near- and long-term strategies to help support and launch NBCU’s new Direct-to-Consumer business
  • Develop relationships with team members across all business, product and technology workstreamsMaintain user stories for all business requirements organized by work-stream in the architectureSupport project team with the creation of technical documents such as business object models, gap analysis matrices, and weekly status reports demonstrating an understanding of tech componentsWhere applicable, be responsible for producing and maintaining comprehensive Business Requirements DocumentsConduct analyses to support strategic decision-making and negotiations including financial models, organizational and process overviews, competitive benchmarking and assessment of industry trendsWork with senior business and product leaders, SMEs, and end-users to identify and document opportunities, requirements, and gaps
  • Assist in ongoing program reporting providing and sourcing detailed updates
  • Prepare compelling polished presentations that effectively communicate key findings and recommendationsAssess portfolio, programs, and project health, including financial budgets and follow-up with project managers on a regular basisCoordinate with business and technology partners to get feedback, synthesize strategies, and influence sign-offConduct gap analysis and provide ongoing reports to project managers and developersCreate high-level conceptual data mapping, matrices, and visualizationsTranslate requirements and tech specs into user stories that both business and dev can understandConduct ongoing sessions with business stakeholders to validate requirements and provide written summaries to project managers

    Basic Qualifications
    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in business analysis, financial reporting, system integration, business transformation, and project management
    • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum basic skills in creating technical documents using Excel and PowerPoint
    • Proficient with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or other
    • Ability to translate business needs into functional specifications for custom services and applications
    • Experience using Visio or other visualization tools for creation of flowcharts and object models
