Summary Statement
This position plays an important role within the Product Development group. Under general direction provided by the Design Assurance Team Lead, this position will contribute to the execution of testing to assure the installation and operating integrity of products being marketed in Commercial/Industrial High Voltage and Power Quality Testing markets.
Primary responsibilities will include planning and testing to verify conformance of products to design specifications and interoperability with products and systems within the intended deployment environments.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Software Design Verification
Execute laboratory and field testing to validate New/Sustaining product developmentDocument procedures and report testing resultsContribute to the organization and maintenance of test data and equipmentProvide feedback to improve the Design Assurance process
Engineering Support (as requested)
Assemble product demonstration systemsAssist in the assembly of systems for manufacturing test
Engineering Level Customer Technical Support (as requested)
Provide technical and system level product expertise to address product deployment cases when required by the technical support escalation processCreate technical documentation for support staff and end users
Minimum Skill Sets and Competencies
Candidate should possess a High school Diploma (or equivalent) and currently be enrolled in Higher Education courses related to software and/or electrical engineering.
Successful candidate will possess the ability and experience to interface with Engineering leadership, Senior Development Engineers, Application Engineers, Software Engineers, and Technical Support personnel.
Candidate should possess technical insights into:
Rudimentary software designBasic test engineering and analysisFunctional assessment of embedded hardware and software

Experience with high voltage equipment and associated Engineering development processesStrong understanding of object-oriented design and coding; Strong scripting design and codingExperience with various programming environments and operating systemsExperience using Design Assurance, Bug Tracking, and Software Testing systemsISEB/ISTQB Software Tester Foundation Certified

This position is responsible for performing assigned development group tasks in a high quality fashion in accordance with all facility quality, safety, reliability, and compliance policies.
