Now hiring a full-time Authorization Coordinator at Care IV Home Health! This is a full-time career position based in our Corporate Office in Little Rock, Arkansas. Our Authorization Coordinator will be a key member of our Revenue Cycle Team, and their primary responsibility is to verify eligibility and obtain all necessary authorizations prior to patients being admitted into Care IV's care and on an ongoing basis as needed to continue their care. This position reports directly to the Revenue Cycle Team Leader. Excellent benefits, and the pay is negotiable depending on experience. This is a full-time Monday through Friday position. Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Verifies eligibility for all Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance patientsDetermines authorization requirements for all incoming patientsObtains authorizations for home health services for new patientsTracks authorizations and obtains re-authorizations for existing patients as needed to continue their careCommunicate with the revenue cycle team, intake team, Case Managers, and other field staff regarding authorization status, related date ranges, number of visits approved, etc.Communicates patient status, as needed, to Insurance Case ManagersReports any difficulties in obtaining authorizations to the Revenue Cycle Manager and all appropriate parties
Provide clinical information and documentation in order to appeal denials as necessaryDocument every patient's chart for billing and compliance purposesOther duties as assigned
Required experience:
Minimum 1 year of recent healthcare / medical office experience requiredExperience with insurance verification and prior authorizations preferredTeam player with great people skills, excellent customer service and communication skills (written & verbal)
Detail-oriented with an understanding of and ability to document important communications and process details in patient charts & computer tracking system, ensuring team is up to speed and knowledgeable of any changes or issues in a timely mannerComputer skills in Microsoft office and ability to quickly and accurately learn customized softwareReliable and dependableExperience working in a home health office a plus, but not required
