Apple’s App Store Revenue Expected To Increase 70% In 2012

Earlier this week Apple released iOS 6 and along with it  a new Maps app and Passbook, a new mobile payments app. Now that Apple is making apps, the company is expected to make more revenues from the App Store.

IHS iSuppli predicts that Apple’s App Store revenue will increase by 70 percent this year. Boy Genius Report has more: “The Cupertino-based company is on pace to make $4.9 billion from its App Store this year, an increase from $2.9 billion in 2011.With this strong growth, Apple will control almost 65% of the global app store market by the end of the year.”

According to IHS, there are more than 435 million iTunes accounts with credit cards attached, which is  up from 225 million in June 2011.
