How to Give an iOS App as a Gift

Looking for last minute holiday presents for the iOS users on your list? How about giving an app? It’s fairly simple to do and the gift gets delivered to the recipient’s email address. (As CNET points out, Apple had previously offered app gifting in iOS 5, it was removed when iOS 6 launched, but now it’s back.)

It’s simple. Start by finding the app in the App Store or in iTunes. Click on the share icon, then choose the gift icon. It will prompt you to sign into iTunes with your Apple ID. Then  you can add the email address of the person that you’d like to send the app to. You can decide on the day you’d like the app delivered, add a message and choose the theme for the gift.

For more details, Apple’s got a step-by-step guide at this link. It also works for music, movies and TV shows.
