New Jane Austen Game Launched on Facebook

Just in case you don’t have enough reasons to be on Facebook, the BBC has launched a new game.

As you can tell from the name, Jane Austen: Rogues & Romance draws from the English author’s 6 novels to build a rather boring game where you are tasked with finding items in a scene and spotting the difference between 2 scenes. I’m new to the world of Facebook games, so I don’t know if most people feel the need to turn off the audio to avoid the annoying soundtrack. I had to in this case.

The idea behind the game is that Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy have escaped from the pages of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Players have to find and convince the characters to return to the book. I didn’t make it far enough to meet the new couple, and due to the repetitive nature of this game I don’t think I will. The period references were fun, though.
