FishbowlDC - Where Politics & DC Media Mesh

Goodbye, Hello

Okay, folks: That's it.

This is my last post on FishbowlDC. As I noted earlier, I begin a new position at Politico on Monday and, as a result, I am saying goodbye to FishbowlDC and the Washington Examiner. I won't repeat my earlier fond farewells, opting instead to just say this was a lot of fun and it'll be missed.

I hope that many of you will remain fans, friends and followers over at the Politico, and you can still find me via email, Facebook and Twitter.

We also have some exciting news here at FishbowlDC: Matt Dornic is the new editor and Christine Delargy contributing. Dornic runs local PR shop 3 Dog Agency and Delargy works in broadcast news in DC. They begin on Monday, so please drop them a note next week and say hello.

In addition to Matt and Christine, we'll be hearing from other FishbowlDC contributors in the coming months as well.

Some other changes at the Washington Examiner with regards to the Yeas & Nays column I've co-authored with Jeff Dufour for over two years: Kiki Ryan will replace me and join Dufour in covering Washington's "people, power and politics." From the announcement:

Also joining the staff is Kiki Ryan, who has been working part time on the popular Yeas & Nays column since September. She replaces the departing Patrick Gavin as Jeff Dufour's partner.

Before coming to The Examiner, Ryan spent six months as an editorial intern at CQ, worked for a Hollywood marketing firm and was a summer intern for Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif.

"Kiki is as comfortable on Capitol Hill as she is at Cafe Milano," Smith said. "She and Jeff will give our readers fascinating glimpses of how this town works."

As you can tell, it's a significant improvement to the paper's aesthetics.

Good luck to Matt, Christine and Kiki.
