Katey Rich, editor-in-chief of CinemaBlend, is moving on up. After six years with the website, she will come December be trading her Brooklyn home office for the shiny Manhattan digs of vanityfair.com, where she will oversee the Hollywood section and west coast blogger Julie Miller:
The Wesleyan University English grad was previously an editorial assistant at Film Journal International and is leaving the door open now at the CinemaBlend end for someone to step into a great new opportunity. From the Mediabistro ad referenced above by Rich:
We’re looking for someone who thrives on being the first and the best. An industry insider with an intimate knowledge of movies and pop culture, and a Rolodex as big as the collection of random knowledge inside their head… We’re primarily looking for someone already in New York City, but if you’re willing to relocate and you’re amazing, we might consider you.
Rich starts December 2; her official title is digital Hollywood editor. In addition to Miller, the other members of this team are Bennett Marcus, who covers the NYC party scene, and west coast editor Krista Smith. Congrats.
