Kim Kardashian Effect Strikes People’s Website

The Kim Kardashian Effect is already in full swing for People magazine. On Tuesday we said that the issue featuring the Kardashian wedding coverage would blow up, and so far, we were right. At least when it comes to the magazine’s website.

WWD reports that in just four days, Kim’s mug (you know you’re not clicking for Kris’ face) has garnered about six million page page views. Six million!

The article “Kim Kardashian: ‘It Was Like We Were in Heaven’” has already doubled the views of last week’s “Inside the Jolie-Pitt Family” piece, which grabbed 540,000 views. Of course the real test will be how many issues are sold at the newsstand, because that’s where the real money is, but we remain confident that it will be a huge hit for People.

The Kim Kardashian Effect is real and it is powerful. So don’t be surprised if next month you pick up a copy of The Economist and there on the cover is Kim, smiling back at you.
