Last night Penguin Books UK won the Best in Show and Experimental prize from the SXSW Festival Web Awards for the storytelling website We Tell Stories.

We Tell Stories featured six storytelling experiments, each utilizing a different kind of webby tool. For instance, "Fairy Tale" was a story co-written by the reader and The 21 Steps was written using Google Maps.

Mashable has a report from the festivities, capturing the unexpected win for digital storytellers: "the We Tell Stories team had no idea that they were even selected for the Best of Show award (they had just been awarded the Experimental award), and took the stage asking the crowd what award they had won."
