Scribd Launches Print-on-Demand Options

btn_logo_red_122x44.gifThe online reading site Scribd (sometimes dubbed the YouTube for print) now offers writers a cutting edge new format for their Scribd writings: print and paper.

Scribd has joined forces with three print-on-demand services–HP’s MagCloud, Blurb and Mimeo–to offer new print options. The site counts millions of monthly readers, offering digital access to everything from magazine articles to books to GalleyCat Reviews.

Here’s more from the release: “For all Scribd documents enabled for printing, users can now choose to print commercial-quality, four-color works in hard or softback with no minimum requirements or upfront costs — and directly from the convenience of their home or office. Printed and bound copies are shipped directly to the consumer from the selected partner. Because of the breadth of available content on the site, Scribd will offer print options based on document types and other criteria: HP’s MagCloud offers self-publishers the ability to print in a magazine format; Blurb makes it easy to print professional-quality books; and, Mimeo provides overnight document printing.”
