Part-time Faculty Positions
DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part-Time Faculty to teach courses across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may submit their credentials to any relevant posting. Screening is ongoing based on curricular needs and funding. Selected candidates will be contacted if they reach the finalist stage. Responsibilities
The Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse (WRD) at DePaul University seeks part-time instructors in various areas of writing studies, rhetoric, and composition. Courses include undergraduate First-Year Writing, minors, majors, graduate programs in WRD, and TESOL certification. Teaching interests include first-year college writing, professional writing, multilingual instruction, science writing, arts writing, digital writing, and more. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellent teaching, antiracist pedagogy, digital and multimodal instruction, and experience with diverse student populations. Opportunities are available throughout the academic year, with courses scheduled as needed.
Required Qualifications
- M.A. in writing studies, rhetoric & composition, or a related field
- At least one year of successful college teaching experience
- Experience teaching in diverse learning environments and a commitment to antiracist pedagogy

Additional Information
Compensation varies based on course specifics, qualifications, and experience. The anticipated salary per course ranges from $4,500 to $5,600. Benefits information is available here.
DePaul operates on a quarter system (excluding the College of Law which uses a semester system). Classes are typically 11 weeks in length in fall, winter, and spring, with summer sessions of 5 weeks. The College of Law offers 16-week semesters and a 7-week summer session.
