NEP is seeking an Engineers in Charge (EIC) to join our Live Streaming Operations team in Los Angeles, CA. Supporting a leading OTT streaming service, the Live Streaming Operations team is responsible for managing and monitoring inbound/outbound transmission, ad insertion, feed routing, and overall video/audio/caption quality for marquee sporting events and other live content. The EIC will join this new and expanding team, providing the support and maintenance activities required to meet client requirements and operate up to NEP standards. This position will require schedule flexibility, including weekends, late nights, and holidays. We are looking for a driven, self-motivated individual. The ideal candidate is well organized and can remain calm and focused under pressure.
What you will do:
- Serve as technical expert supporting the core transmission, ad insertion, and monitoring systems for the Live Streaming Operations team
- Support, maintain & troubleshoot technical workflows in NEP Production Center in Los Angeles, CA
- Work with the Engineering Management Team to plan, coordinate, and assist with other engineering projects.
- Work with fellow Engineers in the repair and maintenance of facility operations.
- Ensure the smooth workflow of the maintenance group as it relates to the needs of the facility operations.
- Complete technical reports for each event to ensure equipment needs/issues are met and resolved.
- Coordinate equipment needs by working closely with local clients, operators, and managers
- Assist with providing technical support for new builds and system upgrades, in cooperation with the Engineering and Systems Integration teams.
- Advise and support development of Centralized Production and IP technical workflows that can enhance productivity, and workflow efficiency.
Requirements
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Los Angeles, CA
- Technical or B.S./Electronics field or Engineering preferred, however various combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience working in television production technology with progressive managerial responsibility.
- Ability to work in, and understand SMPTE 2110 environments, familiarity with IP workflows.
- Demonstrated knowledge of technology, equipment, facilities, and production for major television networks and/or streaming services.
- Ability to interface with clients and provide a high level of service and support.
- Must be willing and able to travel to NEP’s events as scheduled.
- A superior attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to deliver superior service and build lasting relationships by demonstrating NEP’s Core Values: innovative, one team, passion, and integrity.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications as well as Visio or similar engineering sketch tools.
- Team player and prepared to learn new skills, embrace and nurture a culture of change and positive attitude

- Valid US Passport is Required
