Supporting a leading OTT streaming service, NEP is seeking a Manager, Digital Broadcast Operations to lead a multi-location broadcast services team, overseeing operational and technical workflows including signal acquisition, distribution, mezzanine encoding, and SCTE insertion. The Manager, Digital Broadcast Operations will directly partner with the client and will lead this newly formed team, providing monitoring and live operations support for various events per client requirements and NEP standards. This position will require schedule flexibility, including weekends, late nights, and holidays. We are looking for a driven, self-motivated individual. The ideal candidate is well organized and can remain calm and focused under pressure
- Lead execution of key project deliverables and partner with workstream owners and SME’s on project objectives, build, and day-to-day needs.
- Work in conjunction with PMO to articulate client business requirements, project delivery plan, and execution strategy.
- Work directly with Solutions Architect Design team to advise on tech stack supporting digital broadcast origination, monitoring, and master control workflows.
- Directly engage with clients to evangelize, evolve, and support broadcast operations capabilities, and transmission workflows.
- Supervise a diverse, multi-location team of operations, technical, and support personal, comprised of full time/direct reports, indirect project-based resources, and contract/freelance crew.
- Serve in a problem-solving manner, communicating potential solutions with clients in conjunction with sales or engineering teams
- Lead engineering and operations support teams to define and implement Master Control workflows, and OTT delivery.
- Engage with Finance and Legal teams in support of client and project needs.
- Partner with leadership and sales teams on client SOW and SLA structure and understand obligations for NEP.
- Work closely with NOC and engineering leads to develop troubleshooting standards and practices as they relate to playout, and media management.
- Work closely with Finance and Operations teams on managing P&L budget, and forecasts.
- Look for operational efficiencies, recommend new strategies, and/or cost benefits.
Requirements
- 5-7 years minimum experience, Bachelor's Degree
- 2 yrs minimum working experience in a broadcast operations , digital operations and/or live event operations environment
- Familiarity with end-to-end live production processes and software systems that support them.
- Familiarity and experience with SCTE insertion workflows and technology.
- Experience working in new environments, and developing operational strategy.
- At least 2 years of people management experience.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
