Volunteer: Content creator for volunteer mentor organization Job at Nashville Pu
Nashville Public Radio, Oakland, CA, United States, 94616
Since 2018, Oakland Serves has been dedicated to helping high school students graduate, with a focus on underserved and minority communities facing various challenges. We collaborate with OUSD, schools, and teachers to identify where our mentors can make the most significant impact on student achievement. Our mentors are matched with entire classrooms or individual students to maximize the number of students who can progress towards graduation.
We are seeking a content creator to assist with our blog, newsletter, social media, and other outlets to spread awareness of our work. Your role will involve helping us recruit mentors for Oakland's high school classrooms, particularly in critical classes for underserved students. Our mentors support students in passing classes, building self-confidence, and advancing toward graduation. Teachers frequently request more mentors, and your efforts can help meet this need.
If you believe education is vital, we invite you to discuss how you can contribute to our mission.
