The Freelance Designer/Production Artist at Marketsmith Inc. will play a crucial role in transforming creative concepts into visually compelling designs that align with our brand identity. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of design principles to produce high-quality graphics for various marketing materials. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all designs meet project specifications and deadlines. Additionally, this role involves preparing files for print and digital distribution, ensuring that all assets are optimized for their intended use. Ultimately, the designer will contribute to enhancing our visual storytelling and brand presence in the market.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality visual assets including digital ads, social content, print materials, presentations, email campaigns, web graphics, and packaging.
  • Adapt existing creative into various formats and sizes, maintaining consistency across platforms.
  • Prepare and finalize production-ready files ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines, including quality control on typography, alignment, color, and image resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining design quality.
  • Maintain organized file structures and asset libraries for ease of access and version control.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in graphic design and production, preferably in an agency or in-house creative team.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); working knowledge of Figma, Sketch, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design versatility and production accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of design principles including layout, typography, composition, and color theory.
  • Experience with both digital and print formats, including knowledge of print production processes (e.g., bleeds, crop marks, color profiles).
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and iterate quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working within brand guidelines while contributing new creative ideas.

Preferred Skills:

  • Motion graphics or video editing skills (e.g., After Effects, Premiere).
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge or experience designing for web and email.
  • Experience with asset management systems and workflow tools (e.g., Wrike, Trello, etc.)
