R.E.D Evolutions is a new transmedia studio telling stories across film, social, and interactive. We’re hiring our first in-house Publicist to build the publicity function from the ground up—owning narrative, relationships, materials, events, and measurement in lockstep with our Film and Social teams. You’ll be both architect and operator: set the strategy, establish tools and workflows, and ship measurable results.

What you’ll do

  • Build the function 0 → 1:Design the publicity org plan; define in-house vs. agency coverage; select tools (media databases/monitoring) and workflows.
  • Own communications strategy:Develop studio narrative, messaging pillars, and campaign comms plans across film, franchises/IP, and company announcements.
  • Media relations:Cultivate and manage press relationships (entertainment, tech, culture, business); craft targeted pitch angles; secure coverage, interviews, and features.
  • Press materials & assets:Write and edit press releases, media alerts, bios, talking points, FAQs, op-eds; oversee EPKs, stills, BTS, and asset clearances.
  • Unit & campaign publicity:Partner with Film & Production for on-set/behind-the-scenes capture, junkets, screeners, premieres, festivals, and awards campaigns.
  • Executive visibility:Prepare leadership and creators with briefing docs and media training; coordinate thought-leadership, panels, and speaking opportunities.
  • Integrated marketing:Coordinate closely with Social (organic + paid) and Creator/Influencer partners to align drops, exclusives, and amplification.
  • Events & red carpet:Plan and execute press days, critic/partner screenings, festival activations, and red-carpet logistics with photo/video capture.
  • Issues & crises:Establish escalation paths; manage sensitive news, embargoes, leaks, and reputational moments with speed and judgment.
  • Budgeting & measurement:Own PR budgets and agency/vendor SOWs; instrument tracking dashboards; report KPIs, coverage quality, and ROI to leadership.
  • Compliance & governance:Ensure approvals and compliance (embargoes/NDA, guild/union and festival rules, credits, music/licensing, FTC disclosures).

What you’ll build in your first 180 days

  • Publicity playbook (messaging house, templates, review/approval flow) and media list strategy.
  • Launch-ready press kits and asset pipeline aligned to Film & Social calendars.
  • Agency/freelancer bench (unit publicists, photographers, event partners) with clear SOWs.
  • Coverage dashboard with KPIs/benchmarks and an executive-ready reporting cadence.
  • A repeatable campaign rhythm for trailers/teasers, premieres, festivals, and beats across priority titles.

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ yearsentertainment/media publicity experience (studio/streamer, production company, games/interactive, or top PR agency);2+ yearsmanaging agencies or junior staff.
  • Proven record launching titles or IP and landing tier-one coverage (trade & consumer).
  • Excellent writing and editing chops; comfort drafting from blank page to final.
  • Strong relationships with entertainment, culture, and business press; deft, credible pitching.
  • Unit publicity and event/junket experience; festival and awards familiarity a plus.
  • Cross-functional operator who integrates with Film, Social, and Creative to move fast.
  • Tools fluency: media databases & monitoring (e.g., Cision, Muck Rack, Meltwater/Brandwatch/Notified), asset/review platforms, screening/security workflows.
  • Calm under pressure; sound judgment on sensitive topics; airtight organization and follow-through.

Nice to have

  • Transmedia IP and fandom/community experience (Discord/Reddit) or creator/streamer programs.
  • Gaming/interactive or tech PR background; thought-leadership/exec comms.
  • Strong entertainment publications, media and trade relationships.
  • Experience with finding and attaching sponsors to events or content
  • Base salary during probation:$75,000+ (based on experience).
  • Base salary after successful completion of probation:$120,000+ (based on experience).
  • The length and criteria of the probation period will be communicated during the interview/offer process.
