MultiSource Mfg is hiring: Mechanical Designer in Hopkins

POSITION PURPOSE:

This role is responsible for creating, collecting, organizing, and maintaining information to assist project engineers in developing product designs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Develop preliminary sketches, models, and detail part and assembly drawings.
• Modify and use existing parts to assemble products and create new designs.
• Create print packages to be released to the purchasing department.
• Maintain existing models and drawings including revisions.
• Keep supervisor informed of all pertinent information.
• Communicate ideas to ensure successful designs for current and future growth.
• Research and help gather necessary information to develop or improve a design.
• Support Forpak operations team as needed with different production tasks.
• Reverse engineer parts and assemblies.
• Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices.
• Be a safety champion.
• All other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Technical degree or equivalent work experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Computer experience and knowledge using Solidworks, and Microsoft OFFICE PROGRAMS: Outlook, Excel, and Word. General understanding of sheet metal fabrication, machining, and weldments.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3+ years’ relevant work experience.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Working with external references, equations and templates in Solidworks.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Lift up to 30 pounds.

LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.

COMMUNICATION: Able to answer questions during evenings and weekends with service technicians and customers, as needed.
